Arrival to Hotel Bennett

Parking

Hotel Bennett offers our valet services and has wheelchairs available upon request. Hotel Bennett has a wheelchair accessible entryway on Tobacco Road that leads to our front drive/entrance. Hotel Bennett has two (2) dedicated handicap accessible parking spaces in our garage.  There is also free self-parking available for people with disabilities in all Charleston owned parking facilities:

State Code 5 June 3, 1960, allows free parking for people with disabilities who have state-issued identification (either a placard or a handicap license plate) in metered or timed parking spaces. This includes Parking Meters, Garages, and Lots and only applies to City, County, and State-owned facilities. There are several garages and lots that are privately owned, and they do not offer free parking for people with disabilities.

Front Desk & Check-in

The front entrance and front desk check-in area are located on the ground floor of the hotel.  The front desk is able to facilitate check-in for all guests.

Elevators

Hotel Bennett  offers four (4) guest elevators.  Elevators provide access to each guestroom floor, the fitness center, meeting space, and to the rooftop dining Fiat Lux.  An accessible elevator is located on the 9th floor to bring guests to the rooftop pool.  Hotel Bennett’s main restaurant, Gabrielle and Gabrielle Bar, along with The Spa, La Patisserie, and Camellias are all located on the main floor (ground floor).

Restrooms in common areas

The lobby restrooms are located on the ground floor and offer an accessible stall large enough to accommodate a wheel chair. Restrooms located at the rooftop are large enough to accommodate a wheel chair.

Pools

The rooftop pool on property is equipped with an ADA elevator and ADA Lift.

ADA Accessible Guestrooms at Hotel Bennett

Hotel Bennett offers eight (8) ADA compliant guestroom options including six (6) ADA Deluxe Double Queen rooms, one (1) ADA Premium One-Bedroom Suite, and one (1) ADA Deluxe King.

All guest rooms are equipped with strobe lighting and audio fire alarm system and include the following features:

  • Roll in showers
  • Raised toilets
  • Raised bench inside the shower
  • Roll up vanity
  • Remote controlled thermostats
  • Lowered security peep hole
  • Option for lower hanging rail inside the guest closet
  • Shower stools are available on request
