Overheard

"In the race to be crowned Charleston's most lavish lodgings, Hotel Bennett is pulling out all the stops in the Lowcountry luxury stakes. The grandeur begins in the rotunda, where opulence reclines on plush benches, pirouettes in the glow of ornate sconces and gleams under a grand chandelier, all under the gaze of Jill Biskin's captivating murals of the marshlands."

- Paul Jabara, The Observer

"The lounges are some of the most beautiful in the city. Take in panoramic views of the skyline at the rooftop bar, Fiat Lux, or sip Champagne in the pink-hued parlor, Camellias."

- Elizabeth Rhodes, Associate Digital Editor - Travel + Leisure

"Hotel Bennett feels utterly fresh and spotless. In the entry foyer, there's nary a scuff in the white marble flooring or the tufted, white-leather banquettes. Jacketed doormen usher you inside, through a rotunda hand-painted with an artist’s rendering of colonial Charles Towne’s 18th-century harbor and skyline, including one panel devoted to the Richmond plantation purchased several years ago by hotelier and businessman Michael Bennett. You can’t help but linger here, marveling at the detailed mural, the petal-like chandelier, and the over-the-top flower arrangements. But the siren call of soft jazzy riffs from a grand piano beckons you towards reception."

- Allston McCrady, Conde Nast Traveler

"Located in Charleston’s historic downtown, Hotel Bennett offers traditional southern elegance bathed in seafoam greens and creams. The rooms are furnished with designer pedestal tubs, luxurious bedding, and local artwork. No wonder it’s a favorite for groups getaways, from extended families on holiday to bachelorette bashes. You’ll find the latter group lounging on the rooftop, enjoying spectacular views of Charleston at the city’s only poolside cabana experience."
